IDFC Founder & Purpose IDFC
MYANMAR - JAPAN
While economic and political ties between Japan and Myanmar grew rapidly
following the 2011 democratic transition, opportunities for direct exchange
between young leaders remained severely limited.
IDFC was founded in 2014 by
Yu Hashimoto
Realizing that this gap could undermine
future bilateral partnership, Hashimoto
launched IDFC to establish a sustainable
youth platform where future leaders build
grassroots trust and problem-solving skills
early in their careers.p.5
