IDFC2019
Theme introduction
"Seeking New Values"
“We want to give students in Myanmar, where there are almost no opportunities for international exchange, a chance to interact with Japanese students.”
IDFC began with that aspiration.
Our themes so far have been:
IDFC2014: Career Development
IDFC2016: Community Development
IDFC2017: Beyond the Change
IDFC: 2018: Happiness
We have considered “the future” and “how things should be” beyond development.
Myanmar continues to develop rapidly, and its society is undergoing major changes.
Smartphones have become widespread.
Restaurants and cafés are designed to be “Instagram-worthy.”
High-rise buildings line the capital, Yangon.
As society changes, so do values.
What about Japan, which is described as a “developed country”?
Its economy is fully developed, and its aging society continues to mature.
Amid descriptions of Japan as a society in decline, are new values emerging?
This year’s IDFC focuses on “the present” in Myanmar and Japan.
in society New Values、
You will set out on a journey to discover your own New Values.
Change from within can only come about through new perspectives.
IDFC2019 is waiting for you with a camp full of stimulating experiences, including site visits and cultural activities!
To bring about “change”
Three Processes
"New Values" to create a “catalyst” that brings about
The IDFC2019 program is planned around three processes.
①Social Issues
At IDFC2019,
We will hold discussions divided into three topics: “Education,” “Environment,” and “Social Inclusion.”
②Cultural Exchange
Through hands-on cultural exchanges between Japan and Myanmar, rather than simply observing, we discover “new values.”
③Self-Branding
By reflecting on ourselves through self-analysis and taking on various challenges, including symposiums, we aim to take the next step in our personal growth.
